Q. I like revolvers, why should I qualify with a semi-automatic pistol?
A. Texas has two (2) classes or categories of licenses - SA and NSA. If you
qualify with a revolver, your license will be labeled NSA and you will only
be able to legally carry a revolver or a derringer. If you qualify with a
semi-automatic, your license will be marked SA and you can legally carry any
type of pistol in any caliber.
Q. What states recognize my Texas license?
A. Texas has negotiated reciprocity with AK, AL, AR, AZ, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO,
MS, MT, NC, ND, NM, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, and WY.
Reciprocity means that both
states recognize the others license. However, the laws in each state with
respect to where you can carry may differ. Also, Minnesota will
recognize a Texas license (permit). Alaska and Vermont allow concealed carry with out
a permit .
